Here are a few apps to use for Instagram. Now go get that perfect shot!
In only two years, Instagram doubled its user base and has become the second most powerful social media platform in the world (after Facebook), entertaining around 800 million active users each month.
Comparing to other social media apps, Instagram is famous due to its content-friendly interface, which seems to encourage user engagement metrics such as post visibility, comments and shares. So it’s no surprise that 70% of businesses are opting for this platform right now. Just like you, your aunt and all of your friends.
So if you want to step up your Instagram game and take your profile to the next level, you might want to try these apps down below.
Snapseed is amazing. I have been using it for a while now and it reminds me a little bit of Photoshop but for mobile devices, and a lot easier to use. It literally allows you to optimize specific parts of a photo through click, swipe and drag.
The app features a full array of editing tools that range from selective brushes, to portrait and perspective optimization. It also includes a pretty cool collection of filters and typography you can use to enhance your IG feed. Definitely recommend.
Several influencers I follow have recommended Facetune, and after trying it out, I quickly understood why it’s one of the most popular photo-editing apps. Facetune took portrait editing to a whole new level incorporating artificial intelligence and augmented reality.
It has the ability to detect and apply specific smart filters to different parts of the face and even different background lighting, improving any selfie very quickly. It provides great control of the filter’s intensity and also has localized brushes.
If you follow our blog, you know that I already mentioned VSCO before, and I won’t stop until I find a better filter app. Seriously, if you want to transform a photo into an artistic piece of art, here it is guys. Besides, its community is super talented and shares beautiful work to inspire you.
VSCO has the most beautiful filter collection out there. To apply you only need to tap once on the filter’s icon and then, to control its intensity, double-tap to access the slider. On the bottom menu, you can also find other common editing options such as exposure, contrast, saturation, sharpen and cropping. It has everything you need to take any photo to the next level.
For Videos & Insta Stories
This is the app to use if you want to create awesome Insta stories, be it a video or photo. I have been using it a lot lately and simply can’t get enough. InShot allows you to create blurred or colorful borders and move your video freely inside a frame of your choice, to create a modern aesthetic.
It includes a beautiful collection of filters and typography you can use to enhance your post, as well as a timeline on which you can easily sync your text and emojis with the video, and build an interactive post. Besides, you can add music, effects and even voice-overs!
If you’re into vlogging, PocketVideo might just be what you are looking for. This app allows you to create, shoot and edit your videos easily and post them directly into Youtube, Snapchat, Instagram or anywhere really.
Pocket Video has powerful editing tools which let you edit, cut videos, adjust duration, add filters and animated text, mix audio and even import gifs with just a few taps. In the end, it renders your video in HD quality so you don’t let your audience down.
Hyperlapse developed by Microsoft is a simple Android app that allows you to record or import a video of your choice and speed it up. Create fun and quick InstaStories that are pretty stable, although they can get up to 32x speed.
I particularly enjoy the fact that its interface is intuitive and you can literally create a timelapse video in just 2 or 3 taps. Definitely give it a try. Although, I advise you to edit the video first before importing, because this app does not have filters or editing tools.
Instagram has also developed its own Hyperlapse app which is available for iPhone.
If you’re creative enough to build collages for your IG feed (I’m terrible at it), I definitely recommend you to try Layout. This app gives users great control over a wide variety of combinations and frames, which you can preview before posting. As well as tons of editing tools. You can choose photos from your gallery or use the app’s camera.
It features an intuitive interface and lets you to incorporate up to 9 photos, as well as add traditional Instagram filters. Layout is perfect if you want to show before and after pictures, share funny moments with your friends or even showcase a sequence of products that you’d like to sell.
Pic Stitch is also a great app to create collages. It has literally over 245 collage layouts and 15 different aspect ratios, which you can play with to create beautifully framed posts for your feed.
It has an easy-to-use powerful editor that enables users to add music, customize borders and even create personalized layouts. You can also add filters and custom effects, and share it directly into your feeds.
Hope you enjoyed this selection of apps to use for Instagram, and manage to blow your followers’ minds away. Let me know if you have any other suggestions down below, I’d love to check them out!
