Places to Visit in Porto With Your Date

Places to Visit in Porto for a Special Date Base

If you want to surprise a special someone here are 6 places to visit in Porto! There’s simply no way it can go wrong.

Although Portuguese people are known for being funny and friendly, they can also be pretty romantic and masters of seduction (or “engate” as they would say). And there’s literally nothing more seductive than the beautiful city of Porto and its historic architecture, if you’d like to plan a special date for your lover.

Even I have been surprised with amazing restaurants and places several times and I live here for 4 years. So I believe it won’t be a problem for you to find the perfect spot. Just keep in mind that this list is based on my humble experience and life (a 22 year old girl who loves trying food and traveling) and might not please every taste and lifestyle.

Yet trying won’t hurt I promise.

Located in the city’s downtown, Cruel is definitely one of the best places to visit in Porto with someone special. This restaurant is my current choice for a romantic night out due to their innovative concept and delicious food. Basically they have 4 different menus which go from bolder dishes to more traditional ones, aiming to fit the most adventurous and most fearful clients.

A mixture between contemporary, Mediterranean and signature cuisine given in a cozy and sophisticated space with incredibly friendly hosts. If you’re looking for a unique experience, this is a must.

I definitely recommend you to try the Salmon Berliners and the “tartare” steak by the way.

If you live in Porto you probably already heard of Zenith and you probably already know that the queue is always out of this world. BUT, if you actually manage to get a seat you will realize why’s the hype.

If you want to start the day the best way possible and share delicious food with your partner, this Brunch and Cocktail Bar will do the trick, just make a reservation first. The interior has a rustic and industrial setting and the menu offers enticing dishes for every taste.

I particularly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the healthy takes they have. Please make sure to try the Eggs Zenith!

Cábaré is a great option for those who love sophisticated food and a delicious glass of wine. Grab your date, wear your best outfit and get ready for a romantic evening in this stunning place. The space is relatively dark, enhancing the fanciful environment and the attendance is amazing.

The menu features Portuguese contemporary dishes and a refined wine selection, including Port. Make sure to save space for desserts, delicious!

Truly the perfect spot to have a relaxing conversation and enjoy the little things.

Base is seriously the place to be either with friends drinking a glass of beer, or with a lover under a starry night sky. Located in one of my favorite places in Porto, Torre dos Clérigos, this outdoor Cocktail bar includes a cozy yet elegant atmosphere which is surrounded by sparks of green grass (where people can actually seat on).

A beautiful place, filled with historic architecture and relaxing music, that is known for several events in the summer.

Address: Passeio dos Clérigos – Jardim, Baixa, Porto

Zomato rating: 4.2

Price range: 15€ for two

Terminal has already been in one of my lists, but I think it’s never enough actually. Terminal 4450 is known for its high-quality meat dishes, friendly attendance and amazing architecture. The restaurant is located in Matosinhos, a city near Porto and provides beautiful Port of Leixões views through elegant full-height windows while you’re eating.

What I particularly love about this place is its concept. Starting at the entrance it seems like you’re in a Cruise terminal waiting for the trip or your life. From the Check In to the Travel information board displayed at the main room, it features a unique decor. Vintage travel bags are spread throughout the space and the menu is designed as a real passport.

A beautiful experience which is complemented by delicious Steak House flavors. Make sure to schedule a table tho!

Address: Avenida Doutor Antunes Guimarães, Terminal dos Passageiros, Leça da Palmeira, Matosinhos

I always think sushi is a great option for a date, yet I have to admit I’m not a great fan myself. I decided to include Domo anyways just because I loved the experience and thought Sushi lovers would love to give it a try. The presentation of the dishes were so beautiful just like the space itself and the flavors amazing!

The attendance was beyond courteous and made us feel like home!

Address: Rua Fernandes Tomás, 928, Trindade, Porto 4000-213

Zomato Rating: 4.1

Price range: 35€ for two

From all the things to do in Porto, these places can never go wrong. If you try them out please let me know down below how the experience was, I’d love to hear your story. 🙂
